This straw hat has ribbon lacing, which makes me question if the style is 100% accurate for a historical reproduction of an 18th century Bergere hat. With this style ribbons were sewn over the in- or outside and not laced thru (based on my own findings, which does not exclude the laced option as I have not been able to see every Bergere style ever worn). However without the ribbon lacing the style and measurements are 18th century! See portraits for the different ways the hat was styled, covered with fabric, kept plain or even sewn into different angles.
Would you like to wear the hat as is? Than it fits perfectly with the 1950's period.
