Beschrijving:

The sewing pattern shows two different views after typical vests from around 1890.
Both vests are meant to be worn over a corset to reach the typical shape of the 1890´s with a high bust point and a narrow waist, fitted with darts at the front and back.
In general ladies vests from around 1890 were made in the same way as gents´ with an interfacing supporting the front. For washable vests no interfacing, but flatlining was used.
A watch pocket was commonly inserted just above the prominence of the breast on the left side and occasionally pockets were put in at the waist. The optional welt pockets are explained the 19th century method, feel free to use a modern one.
A twill cotton fabric (Silesia) was used for the back and lining, the back will be worked as single fabric layer and can be tied in if necessary with buckle and straps. Check the width of your buckle before cutting and adjust the strap if needed.

View 1 (single breasted with stand-up collar): The front of the single breasted vest is cut curved as common at that time to get some extra width at the bust level, front and collar are flatlined with a midweight cotton fabric, for more stiffness the collar is additionally interfaced with a midweight linen or canvas, cut on the bias.

View 2 (double breasted with shawl collar): The front is interfaced with a midweight linen or hair canvas, sewn in with classic tailoring techniques (grey area). The “turn of cloth” has already been allowed for when patterning the collar and lapel and added to necessary pattern pieces.

Fits following patterns perfectly::#0414 Cycling Skirt.

Also suitable for cosplay or steampunk costumes.

The pattern comes with detailed and illustrated sewing instructions in English and German.
It is a multi size pattern, you can choose between US 8-18 (EU 34-44) and US 20-30 (EU 46-56).
