Paletots became fashionable in the middle of the 19th century.
Shorter than coats they followed the shape of fashion.
The pattern is based on a model of “Der Bazar” from 1876. After the early bustle era the silhouette became slender round the hips and no bustle was worn. About 1880 the bustle returned.
This pattern is supposed to be worn over a bustle.
Fitted to be worn over a corset size chart
Also suitable for steampunk costumes.
The pattern comes with detailed and illustrated sewing instructions. It is a multi size pattern, you can choose between US 8-18 (EU 34-44) and US 18-26 (EU 44-52).
